Digital Values Exercise
Decide what technology is for in your life, before deciding what to cut.
WHAT ISTHIS FOR?
20 minutes / Digital LifeMost people's digital lives were never designed — they accumulated. Apps arrived, notifications stayed on, habits formed around whatever was easiest. Intentionality is mostly a matter of deciding things on purpose that were previously decided for you.
Good for: deciding what technology is allowed to be for
- 01
Write the five things that matter most to you this year.
- 02
For each, note how technology helps and how it interferes.
- 03
Find the one place where interference is largest.
- 04
Change only that. Values-led changes outlast rule-led ones.
Take what you found into a check-in, or read the thinking behind the tool. Saving it puts it on your shelf in My Modern Human.
